Daphne Stover

Owner, Groomer, and Head Trainer

Daphne Stover is an experienced dog trainer and has been training dogs in obedience, weight pull, conformation, and agility for over 20 years. She has competed at the national level in many events.

Daphne has always been a dog lover. As a child, she was a 4-H member exhibiting her Setters as often as possible. After graduating from high school, she continued her education and achieved a dual Bachelors Degree in Business Management and Accounting. While she was in college, she started teaching basic obedience classes at her home in Lapeer.

In 1996, she moved to Hadley, Michigan and started her business, Hadley Acres Obedience & Care, and continued teaching Obedience & Agility classes. At that time, she started exhibiting in multiple dog events and venues with her cocker spaniel Foxy.

In 1998, she started a 4-H dog club Hadley Hounds, having over 100 children of all ages involved, including her own son. Daphne enjoys and has a talent for working with children. She encourages children to train and compete with their dogs as a fun activity and possibly a lifelong hobby. Hadley Acres offers many classes that children can participate in to train with their dogs. Many of the children involved in her 4-H Club have gone on to compete and win titles in Junior Handling, Agility, Conformation and Obedience in 4-H AKC, UKC, and other dog competition venues.

Daphne enjoys working with rescue dogs. She trains many at Hadley Acres in her classes. She has started fostering dogs herself and now offers free training sessions to rescue workers and foster parents.
